Hey, I’m getting likes for my posts but can I have some comments as well? Honestly…I really feel good, as this is my start of blogging, and which I perceive is for a good cause. So, please write what you guys think in the comment section below! Meanwhile, here’s excerpt three from the upcoming book chapter.
” My first liquid spiritual love was a lady with an unusual reputation. Her reputation is to lead the unwary into dark states of depression. However as they say, dark is attractive and perhaps I was one seduced by her charm as well, without getting depressed of course! My earliest memory of lady gin was when I stole a sip from the glass of a visitor to my parents; it was revolting, terrible even. At that time I could never imagine enjoying that clear sharp liquid. Boy, was that to change during the swinging seventies when an older friend laid out a temptation. He mixed Lady Gin without tonic substituting instead a favoured drink from my childhood, lemonade; talk about yummy, talk about exquisite! Wow I thought, this is bloody marvellous! I experimented with mixers other than lemonade, however I found that only lemonade brought out the lady’s finer qualities. These days I prefer enjoying the more discerning and elegant Lady Gin with dry lemonade. This elegant relation maybe pricier, but she is classier and certainly smoother.
My love of spirit continued with two cousins, both from the USA. My first intro was simple bourbon. By the time I got to know bourbon, especially Mr Jim as I fondly call him, I had many litres of alcohol under my belt. The taste was, and is still wonderful (in my opinion) if I add any of the major colas. Contrary to what my American friends might argue, especially the Southern die-hards, who prefer as I came to know, their bourbon neat or on the rocks. Now, I never imply, that I don’t like it their way, however, as they say in New Zealand, different strokes for different folks! I’m sure, by now you readers are wondering, which is my favourite cola, but sadly, I won’t disclose, as they don’t pay me any endorsement money! (Here’s a hint for the beverage companies, if you want to feature in my fantastic manuscript…you know where to find me!)
Mr Jim has a cousin we affectionately call Jack. Jack has been featured as a special friend to the rich and famous; for example Gordon Gecko in Wall Street helped promote him. I met Jack a few years after I had been mixing with Mr Jim. At first Jack and I didn’t hit it off because I had mistakenly mixed him with the wrong company such as cola or lemonade; however after we met with a famous New Zealand Beverage called Lemon and Paeroa, Jack has become friendlier and smoother. Talk about tasty; talk about yummy, talk about luscious, yeah eat your heart out world; L&P is only available in New Zealand! ”
